Spring 2013: Marchesa

Marchesa, the name that resonates from the lips of A-list celebrities on the red carpet has now looked to India for inspiration for their new Spring 2013 ready to wear collection. The collection consists of sari draping, fringe, brocade, paisley, hand embroidery,thread work and in vibrant traditional colours like golds, chartreuse, burgundy, ivory, rani pink and bright blue.

Many of the dresses had the layered fabrics we see in Anarkalis today and embroidery on the neckline was gorgeous. I wish they used more accessories like Chanel did and maybe even used some South Asian models. It would of just added that extra touch.

A few of the pieces were a complete miss to me like the burgundy dress with the gigantic embroidery in the middle or the see through lengha with shorts. Haven't seen it before and it just looked off.
