Glamorous, shimmering outfits and grand arrangements and ceremonies are highlights of Bollywood actor-actress weddings!
Let us take a peek at what some of our favourite celebs wore at their weddings!
Riteish Deshmukh – Genelia D’souza
This was one of the most talked about marriages of Bollywood and an event long awaited by fans of this young, good-looking couple!
The bride, Genelia, hails from a Manglorean-Catholic background. However, since husband Riteish is a Maharashtrian, she decided to go all traditional and wore a gorgeous red nine yard sari which was a Neeta Lulla creation. Combined with this were the traditional Maharashtrian accessories – a nose ring and the decorative pearl string head gear tied around the forehead called ‘mundawali’.
Riteish, her Marathi groom, also went traditional and sported the conventional Maharashtrian attire worn by grooms, a classy off-white sherwani, complete with the mundawali and a bright red turban.
Vivek Oberio – Priyanka Alva
Vivek wed Priyanka in Bangalore. Priyanka wore a very heavy embellished red bridal outfit designed by the famous Tarun Tahiliani. He also designed Vivek’s outfit which was an all ‘sparkle-shine’ maroon sherwani full of work, complete with a turban.
For their reception, the couple picked a ‘velvet’ theme. Vivek wore a black velvet sherwani which was a Rohit Bal creation. Priyanka looked gorgeous in a short green and gold fitted choli and a blue fishtail lehenga with heavy gold work on it. Her reception outfit was designed by Sushma Vaid and Sonia Sahaney.
Ayesha Takia – Farhan
For her ‘Nikaah’, Ayesha Takia wore a stunning embellished light gold and silver lehenga choli and matching dupatta with butis all over and a lovely border.
Ayesha paired her outfit with a heavy necklace, earrings and maang tika.
Husband Farhan was seen in a royal blue sherwani. This celebrity couple’s outfits do not have any designer tags to them.

Esha Deol – Bharat Takhtani
Esha Deol married Bharat Takhtani in a breathtakingly beautiful Neeta Lulla creation. Being a south Indian, she wore a heavy gold and red ‘Kanjeevaram’ which was a saree made out of three different Kanjeevaram sarees combined into one!
These sarees were exclusively handpicked from Chennai by mother Hema and designer Neeta. The groom wore a Sherwani which was an off-white and brown combination, complete with a stole. Hema Malini looked radiant in an orange and pink brocade Kanjeevaram.
Our B-town celebrity weddings are full of vibrancy, pomp and show, and an exact representation of the Big Fat Indian Weddings!
