A whopping 77% of you
were not into the pose-y stance Angelina Jolie struck on the Oscars red
carpet a few weeks back. So, it might surprise you to hear that Angie,
her right leg and her Atelier Versace gown might've been foreshadowing a
big fall trend.
An unusually high number of black
skirts and ball gowns with thigh-high slits debuted on the Fall 2012
runways this past weekend. Come, join in on the fun game of Gown 'n' Gam
spotting with me:
Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing started things off slow with maxi skirts that came with strut-enabling slits.
Another sculptural version appeared on the Costume National runway...
...while at Azzaro, a model tested out her own Angelina pose in order to show off the full effect of the dress.
Finally, not one, but two mega-gowns cut up to there hit the Jean-Paul Gaultier catwalk, each one with enough drama to tempt a headline-making starlet to wear it on her next big night out.
There may be more to come--Paris fashion week isn't even over yet. That means we've got a lot of VIP kneecap sightings in our future, ladies, so buckle up.
How are you feeling about Angelina's look now? Coming around to it? Still on the fence? Still anti? Or do you just think the dress shape is fine, it's the pose that's the issue? Finally, which of these designer skirts and dresses do you like best?
