Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2008 Part 1

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week S/S 2008 is underway! Of course it is one of my favorite shows that takes place, due to the budding designers, trippy colors and overall hippie vibe. After all, the hippies were greatly influenced by Eastern designs and color in the late 60's, a trend that is resurfacing in the coming seasons. Rockstars and actors like Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Mia Farrow, Mick Jagger and Talitha Getty, were drawn to places like India and Morocco for inspiration, wild parties and spiritual awakening. They came back with flowing caftans, embroideded frocks and probably a few hangovers!

I love the way color is utilized by Indian designers, they are definitely not afraid of bold palettes. Below are a few favorites from the show. I will post part 2 at the end of the show, which I am eagerly awaiting, since Manish Arora's line is the grand finale!
